Call of Duty: Classic Available For All Via PSN And XBLA (Soon)

It’s been known for some time now that those gamers (non-PC gamers that is) who purchase the Hardened or Prestige editions of Infinity Ward’s über-anticipated Modern Warfare 2 will also receive a download code for Call of Duty: Classic (the entire original game plus full multiplayer support).

However, the latest news, according to IGN, is that everyone will be able to enjoy the mother of Activision’s high-intensity, cinematic war franchise via Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network, sometime soon. Activision hasn’t announced an official release date, or the game’s price yet, but the game is coming, and it will be the full COD that fans love and remember.

For anyone planning on buying the standard edition of MW2, I hope for your sake that there are at least a few cool things in the game to keep you occupied while you wait for COD to become available for download. It will be a difficult time, I know, but stay strong, and you’ll make it through.

Can anyone honestly see themselves turning off Modern Warfare 2 to play Call of Duty: Classic? What would you be willing to spend for the original COD?
