Acer Dips Android Donut into Qualcomm Coffee

While previously leaked specs indicated its CPU would be running at 768MHz, Acer has now said it will have a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon chip. It’s also rocking Android version 1.6, known as Donut. The upcoming smartphone is equipped with a 3.5 inch 800 x 480 display, and a 5 megapixel camera. It will also have an Acer branded cloud sync application.

SanDisk Ships First Memory Cards Built Around 64Gb X4 Flash Memory Technology

SanDisk on Tuesday announced that it has begun shipping flash memory cards based on the company’s X4 flash memory technology. Chips built using the new technology hold four bits of data in each memory cell, or twice as many as the cells in conventional multi-level cell (MCL) NAND chips, the company said.

Nokia Partners with Best Buy, AT&T for Booklet 3G’s November Launch

Nokia has announced that its upcoming netbook, the Booklet 3G, will make its U.S. debut in November. AT&T and Best Buy will serve as the Finnish mobile phone giant’s launch partners. The netbook will be available for $299 with a two-year AT&T service contract.

First Photos of Barnes and Noble’s E-Reader Emerge

We’re still a week away from Barnes and Noble’s official unveiling, but according to Gizmodo, the e-reader will feature a black and white e-ink screen similar to the Kindle, but with a multitouch display like the popular iPhone. The top screen size checks in at 6 inches with an 800×600 pixel resolution, while the bottom touchscreen portion will boast 480×144 pixels.
