Tech News: Online Android Market Goes Live
Move over mobility. Google extended it’s Android Market client from just mobiles devices to the web. As long as you have a browser you can now search thousands of third party software and purchase apps right from your desktop. The apps are then automatically downloaded to your android based device or smartphone.
The new web Android Market is limited to only english as this time. But Google assures us that other languages will be offered soon. The Android Market web client is easier than ever to maneuver. On top of the page you’ll find three tabs, including Featured, Top Paid, and Top Free. If you choose one of these it will automatically refresh a list of the newest apps below. On the left is a long column where you can navigate between categories and sub-categories. Games and Applications make up the two main Categories and they’re further broken down in 33 more sub-categories.
It’s a real breeze and increases functionality all around. It beats scrolling through on a small screened device and is very convenient. Check it out here.
